Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings and participation in survival expeditions operated by Travel Tales Maldives Pvt Ltd, trading as Survive Maldives.

1. Booking & Reservations
All bookings are subject to availability and must be confirmed by Travel Tales Maldives Pvt Ltd. A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit and written confirmation from our team. Submitting a booking form or inquiry does not guarantee a reservation. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion. Participants must be at least 18 years of age or accompanied by a legal guardian who has also booked the expedition.
2. Payments
The expedition fee is USD 3,999 per person. A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required to secure your spot. The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 30 days before the expedition start date. Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in automatic cancellation of your booking. All payments are in US Dollars (USD). Payment methods will be communicated upon booking confirmation.
3. Changes & Modifications
Date changes are permitted up to 45 days before the expedition start date, subject to availability and a USD 200 administrative fee. Only one date change is allowed per booking. Changes requested less than 45 days before departure are not permitted and the original terms apply. Name changes (transferring your booking to another participant) may be permitted at our discretion and may incur an additional fee.
4. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing to hello@survivemaldives.com. The following cancellation fees apply:
• More than 60 days before departure: Deposit forfeited, remaining balance refunded.
• 30–60 days before departure: 50% of total expedition fee forfeited.
• Less than 30 days before departure: No refund.
• No-show: No refund.
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation.
5. Force Majeure
Travel Tales Maldives Pvt Ltd shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics, government restrictions, civil unrest, war, acts of terrorism, or any other unforeseen circumstances. In such events, we will endeavor to offer alternative dates or a credit for future expeditions, but no cash refund is guaranteed.
6. Participant Responsibilities
Participants are responsible for:
• Ensuring they are physically and mentally fit to undertake a survival expedition in tropical conditions.
• Disclosing all relevant medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements, and medications prior to departure.
• Obtaining appropriate travel insurance that covers adventure activities, medical evacuation, and trip cancellation.
• Ensuring valid travel documents (passport, visa) for entry into the Republic of Maldives.
• Following all safety instructions and guidance provided by expedition leaders and instructors at all times.
• Behaving responsibly and respectfully toward fellow participants, instructors, local communities, and the natural environment.
7. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all participants. Your insurance must cover, at minimum: adventure and outdoor activities, medical expenses and emergency evacuation, trip cancellation and interruption, personal liability, and loss or damage to personal belongings. Proof of insurance may be requested prior to departure. Travel Tales Maldives Pvt Ltd is not responsible for any costs arising from inadequate or absent insurance coverage.
8. Assumption of Risk
Survive Maldives expeditions involve inherent risks associated with outdoor survival activities in remote tropical island environments. These risks include but are not limited to: exposure to extreme heat, sun, and humidity; rough seas and strong currents; encounters with marine life (sharks, rays, jellyfish); insect bites and stings; physical injury from activities such as fire-making, shelter building, fishing, and hiking; dehydration, exhaustion, and heat-related illness; and limited access to immediate medical facilities.
By booking an expedition, you acknowledge and accept these risks. All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver and assumption of risk form prior to the expedition.
9. Conduct & Behavior
Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner at all times. The following are strictly prohibited:
• Use of illegal drugs or substances.
• Excessive alcohol consumption that impairs judgment or safety.
• Harassment, bullying, or disrespectful behavior toward any person.
• Destruction or damage to the natural environment, coral reefs, or marine life.
• Disregard for safety instructions from expedition leaders.
Travel Tales Maldives Pvt Ltd reserves the right to remove any participant from the expedition without refund if their conduct is deemed dangerous, disruptive, or in violation of these terms.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Travel Tales Maldives Pvt Ltd, its directors, employees, instructors, and agents shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, illness, or death arising from participation in the expedition, except where caused by proven negligence on our part. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the participant for the expedition. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Complaints & Disputes
Any complaints or concerns during the expedition should be raised immediately with the expedition leader so that we can address them promptly. Written complaints after the expedition must be submitted to hello@survivemaldives.com within 14 days of the expedition end date. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days. All disputes shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Maldives.
12. Legal Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Maldives.
13. Updates to Terms
Travel Tales Maldives Pvt Ltd reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The most current version will always be available on this website. By booking an expedition after any changes are posted, you agree to the updated terms. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
